with weight lifting you risk damaging the erectile tissues, and therefore even if you make it longer you may get difficult erections, so this method does not come without risks.
Unless you have a really small penis, one should not risk that for a larger one, since most women do not care about length as they care about it being hard and for the guy to know what to do in bed.
