I consider him to be a genius. I've read every book about George Soros and read through his book Alchemy of Finance and especially his quasi-autobiography Soros on Soros. His theories of reflexivity as applied to the stock market and different societies is really revealing. However, his philosophy isn't as good as his ability to manage hedge funds. If you read through some of his writings, he tries to use his same ideas over and over to explain different things happening in our society.
However, his theories aren't always applicable theories to explain everything with. From reading that article, it felt almost like reading every article he's ever written about different problems in society over many years. Its almost like he just copies the problems of today and inserts them in forms of prewritten, reused ideas of the past. Its good to take it with a pinch of salt.
