Well, that would make sense, seeing as how the Republican party is the party of the rich. They give tax cuts to the rich and try to find as many new ways to fuck the poor and middle class as much as possible.

Explain to me how Bush's 2003 tax proposal fucks the poor and middle class?

Of course, there aren't enough rich people in this country to actually elect a Republican president, so that's where the fake religious worship comes in. The Republicans protect the moral majority from seeing boobies on TV or getting their guns taken away so they can't protect themselves at the KKK rallies, and in exchange get votes.

So you're saying the Republicans give the majority what they want. Yet you seem to be implying that's a bad thing?

Where are the poor getting poorer? The standard of living in the US is better than its ever been. The problem is people are comparing their livestyles to ones they see on TV. People no longer are content with food clothing and shelter or 40 acres and a mule. Now they want 200 channels of satellite tv, two cars in the driveway and a house full of appliances. The US is a victim of its own success, few alive today can remember real hardship.
As for education that is a matter for the states and local government.
