a company i worked for years ago did emergency lighting in theaters , including one notorious for a 'ghost'. 2 of my workmates swore they'd heard footsteps and saw shadows when in a supposedly empty theater working on their own. one of the guys actually refused to go back by himself so i had to go help him one day...his sister even gave him a crucifix to wear to work that day. i was up a ladder while he was below me passing up shit...i asked him to go to the van for some gear, while he was gone i jumped off the ladder, moved the tool box 4 rows of seats away from where he left it, and jumped back up the ladder. when he came back i asked for a particular tool, when he saw the box had moved he went white and blurted out BULLSHIT! THAT'S NOT WHERE I LEFT THE BOX!! of course i played along with feigned shock.
i never let on to the poor kid...
