I imagine what happened is that your debit card was pre-authorized for the amount of the load, and then failed a scrub somewhere else along the line. If that's true, the money never left your account. But, it could be in a state of being held. Pre-auth's automatically fall off within 4-7 days.

If you want to send your ePassporte account name to me I can find out more details. If your experience is indicative of a problem somewhere in the process, that is something we need to be aware of and correct. There are several entities involved in a transaction such as the one you describe and any number of potential points of failure. However, I can tell you by seeing the stats that I'm not aware of any problem across the board.
