Dying's not the bad part. Suffering is the worst. And what it does to your family is terrible.
My ex's father died of lung cancer writhing in pain with every breath. He practically PRAYED for death.
My grandmother's co-worker got throat cancer and his wife woke up one morning to see his neck swelled up to the size of a watermelon because the cancer had come back and it burst the artery in his neck. He was dead there in bed with her.
And I'll never hear my father sing to me again because he got throat cancer and they had to remove his larynx. He has to breathe through a hole in his neck now and when he goes out he has to keep it covered in gauze.
Heartbreaking
