There are really only two of any importance, the original and the division, all the rest fall in between and hold no surprises if you 're familiar with those two.
When trying to understand a patent, keep in mind that the main thing are the claims, those numbered items. That's the true definition of the invention. If it's not there, it's not part of the invention, even if it seems the abstract might otherwise cover it.
