You're saying that it was a political victory? The US was winning the war in absolute terms. It just lost the political will after the Tet Offensive of 1968...hence it was a political loss NOT a military one.
Vietnam lost over a million people and really was on the ropes until the US decided to scale down and phase out.

When you say "Vietnam lost over a million people..." I think you must be referring to North Vietnam...because the over all Vietnamese loss...I believe...was more than three million. You are correct about it being a "political" loss...it was not a military defeat.
