one marketing method or many?

I'm coming around to the revolutionary conclusion that you can build a big marketing engine with just one type of good marketing. For example, only paid search engine traffic or only type-in domain traffic.

Do you think one should focus on one quality source of traffic and work with that or have many sources, but at the expense of losing your focus?
