I have one of these drives, but haven't used it to backup DVD's yet.

I know you can split them to multiple DVDR's, but they are not exactly as cheap as CDR's. So it's not like you are getting a DVD for 50 cents like you can do with music CD's.

The two most popular programs are DVDFab and DVDXCopy.

I still can't get over those scammers online selling software to "make perfect copies" of DVD's onto CDR's. LOL... You can't put a 10gig DVD onto a 700mb CDR and come anywhere close to DVD quality.

I burnt quite a few movies over the last couple of days and the only ones that arent so great are some of the older dvds, titles that have been out for a few years...they seem a lil choppy so Im gonna stay away from those from now on.

Blank DVD media holds 4.7GB as far as I know...
Also I just recently purchased 50 Blank DVD for like 80$ canadian or so.

they come out to 1.60 a disc about, considering they hold 4.7gb of data i think that its much more cost effective when you consider the storage capability...
it would take 7 blank ¢50 cd's to equal one blank dvd...so which one is really cheaper in the end?
