Oh and by the way. We don't use the word "Irie" alot there. Right now that would is only used in the touristy areas such as negril, ocho rios and montego bay. Its something that the americans are familiar with and we keep saying it in those town to make them feel welcome because they are familiar with it. Really and truly they Jamaican dialect is broken english which is spoken very fast, so fast that I can 10-12 words and it would sound like one word.
So when you go down there, instead of saying Irie, say, everyting kriss, or everyting intact (everything is ok).
And meeting someone you say "wah gwaaan" stress out the "a's" its funny to hear you guys say it.
And saying goodbye would be "likkle more" or "bless"
