Sites may lose traffic when popup's are gone, but everyone is losing traffic. So it all evens out. You end up getting traffic others lost, and they get some that you lost.

Its not a zero sum game. You LOSE the opportunity to monetize your traffic if pop ups are disabled. Its not like the money's coming from someone else's traffic...but YOURS. That's ultimately what matters and pop up blockers decrease your ability to add a layer of income to your traffic.
