why do people who have no kids think they are qualified to give advice to those who have kids?
when my kids and I are playing Mortal Combat or Hitman 2 or watching Freddy Vs. Jason, it is because I am THERE AS A APRENT and have control over the situation. If I'm watching a sport event on television, I should have reasonable assurance we'll get a football game and not a tit shot. I have nothing against tit shots, if I'm aware they are going to appear.
There are some things as a parent that I can control. There are ways I can keep my kids informed. It's by being there and explaining things as I go along. If my kids and I are watching a horror movie, I generally know what to expect and can control the sitaution. I can't do that when we're watching LIVE sporting event and get something different.
It's not about a tit plopping out as goodness knows I've watched the video clip over and over enough times. It's about what I hav REASONABLE expectations of as a parent.
It's not easy being a parent these days and it gets even harder as the kids age and become more independent, but until then, I like to maintain a reasonable level of control over what my kids experience. It's called parenting and I do it as often as I'm able. I can't control the universe, but I should be able to expect to watch a sporting event and actually get to watch the event.
Bah, doesn't matter, football sucks anyways and the kids and I were watching a horror movie marathon (something I'm glad I was able to have something resembling control over)
