yah just get a subway map and start exploring, of course most of NYC is obvious, like times square, central park, etc. Try and visit every major area, like long island, queens, manhattan, etc.. I've only been there once.. not really my cup of tea

maybe just stick to Manhattan...Grand Central & Times Square are fun to see in the day. Greenwich Village and the Lower East Side at night.
