Once the surfer has signed up, then yes, treat them like royalty (unless your aim is upsells) - otherwise, jerk them around a little, make their surfing experience unpleasant, don't give them pink for free, tease them with hot softcore - and watch your sales per total traffic soar. I can't believe that so many webmasters are brainwashed into thinking that we should just give it all away for free.

I Never said they should be giving things out for free. They run paysites.
Keeping tours softcore and not giving away free pink is one thing, but making their surfing experience unpleasant, I don't know about that. Many webmasters are brainwashed into thinking that the only way to make a buck is to treat the surfer like shit until he signs up. Why would a surfer whip out his/her credit card after being jerked around? Would you? This is why I think these xxx toolbars, pop up hells, and overriding browser settings will hurt in the long run. (I'm not talking about maxcash here, just the adult net in general)
Put yourself in their shoes 'cause I'm sure you were or still are a surfer. I have google's pop up blocker installed and running on my pc, if I go to a site that bypasses it and hits me with a pop up, it's gonna piss me off. And if that site is an adult site, I might close it 'cause there are many many others. If that site installs a xxx toolbar then I'll def close it and prolly wont sign up. What I'm getting at here is that trust is sometimes more important than anything else when it comes to people giving you their credit card info.
