I asked this exact question to a black chick I know.
The response:
"It makes my skin glow. I need a tan cause now my skin is just brown, when I've been in the sun it has a nice glow."
I think it slightly changes the color, looks abit more lively, just like perfectly white people look dead, guess the same kind of thing happens white straight brown skin. I dont really get it either.
Just thought I'd include the answer I got.
