Ok Gemini, I do use .htaccess I just didn't know that it was reffered to as a locked dir. Still learning the lingo.
Which brings me to "float a dir"
How do you do that?
This is what I understand:
If you put all your images into a directory, and call them from other directories, and domains you need to call them by one of two ways.
The first being an absolut URL. (For different domains)
example:
http://www.domain.com/ht-protected-d...-set/image.jpg
or
local url (for within the doamin)
example:
/images/photo-set/image.jpg
What I don't understand:

If you change the directory, won't all the links to the photos that you're hotlinking now be invalid? They will show broken links accross your entire domain. Right?
