I guess the big question that is on everyone's mind is, where has all the money gone to pay all these people that comprise the foundation of our business ?? And it is a very good question, with more that one answer!!!
Greed can be attributed to the decline that we see in all of our paychecks. Greed from those that want it all, no matter what the cost. If we continue to bombard our customers with things like auto loading dialers, pop ups from hell, and cj's we are doing nothing but shooting ourselves in the foot! There is no reason to shit where we eat so to speak.
Saturation. I could literally sit on the net 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and surf to my hearts content, and never run out of naked people to look at. Except for some really niche stuff, it can pretty much be found in mass, and hi-rez to boot. I will give you an example, here is a site that I found on one of the tgp's, I won't say which one, because they all have links like this one.

now with pages and pages of stuff like this out there, why would I want to pay for it ??? Again we have lost the art of the tease, and till we get it back, our bank statements are going to do nothing but get smaller!
Saturation among webmasters. There are a lot more of us out here trying to get that surfer, granted there are more surfers, but the number of people that have jumped into our biz have increase 20 fold in the last 2 years. Not that this is a bad thing, because it will hopefully make us all better and more creative webmasters to draw attention to ourselves. But let's no fall into the Greed area where we will do whatever it takes to make the buck, because we all lose out then!
Well I know that there are many more reasons than what I mention here, but I will get off my soap box for a while, so someone else can take over
p.s. I did read an article earlier this week that gave some very enlighten suggestions to all of us about what will have to happen before the money comes back into our biz the way it once was. It was along the lines of the traffic people need to require toned down galleries, content providers need to limit what content they allow in open forum's, and free hosts need to tighten up what they allow in terms of galleries with little or no hardcore, limiting the picture size, and the amount of pic's shown per page. Wether or not anyone actually has the balls to follow thru on these suggestions is anyone's guess. Take care all.
