We all need time to get "familier" (familiar) with networks and what-not. That's never a problem, it's expected. However - employers and co-workers alike also expect your best. If your best means butchering others' work (don't make me bust out that chop-shop job you did on the VC mailer), then... you need to work on your best, and take the cocky attitude down a bit.
As for the best FPAs we've ever seen? Not hardly. You used transparent .gif's throughout most of them, and you used a no-color matte background. That made your image borders very choppy and jagged. That's something most people who don't have their heads up their asses learn in their first few months of designing.
Jim makes the best FPAs I've ever seen. End of story. The best part, though? If he has a problem w/something he's working on - he comes to me and asks me about it. Because I know things he doesn't. Also - I go to him a lot, because he knows a lot I don't know. That's what we call teamwork. Give it a try sometime.
I could really go on and on about your flaws in this argument and many others. I could point out specific examples of when/where you were wrong. I could bury you with your own words.
However, I think you've gotten enough of a beating for a day. I wish you well, good sir. Consider this last week or so to be your first and last week in the class of "How to get your ass fired 101". And, it should be pointed out - you quit - no one fired you. And, we all thank you for not making us have to make the decision. No one likes firing the new guy - so it's better this way.
In the end - it should be known that I tried to be nice to you. I tried to work with you. I might have even tried harder - but, there's a lot of adjustments that I'm not sure you'd have made. Even today - those of us who physically couldn't get into work on account of the overturned gas truck were working from home (as I am right now). Whereas - you never even offered to do so. That's how you get ahead. Going the extra mile. Put that in your depression diatribe next time.
Good luck on future ventures. Let me know when reality calls you back, will ya?
