Rags to riches over night? In ANY business you take hits from unhappy customers. A real true business owner takes that in stride and goes on with life and work. Not belittling him or herself in useless diatribes.
If you want to put yourself over the small webmasters then you deserve to get a crash and burn. Remember that the small ones make the large ones large in this biz.
It amazes me how some so called large site owners or program operators can try and put themselves in to some sort of quasi God Like position. Last time I checked, you guys do the pants one leg at a time and aren't of the super intelligence Alien group. You screw up just like everyone else. So act like it. There will always be some unhappy name callers, but for a program owner to go down in the dirt and call names.... ??
Act like adult professionals or expect to get treated like children.
