Find your niche and then be the best at it. You can't be all things to all people, and trying to just results in half assed unsuccessful projects. It is better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a huge pond.
The most important thing in business is perseverance. By having the attitude that your never going to give up, you are already ahead of a lot of people in this world. I have known plenty of very smart people that could have been very successful, but they give up on things easy.
