In feb. of this yr. I was hurt on the job.
Since then I've had to go on workmans comp.
Allmost 3 mos. ago the insurance comp. decided to cut my benifits and not pay me.
It all started because I needed to see another dr. because the quack I was seeing couldnt help me.
I hired a att.and was advised not to name another dr. but to ask for the list of approved dr.'s from the ins.comp.

It took the ins. comp. 3 weeks to send me the list of approved dr.'s and I trotted it down to the lawer 3 days later.
About a week later,I got the letter saying my benifits were to be cut because they didnt hear from me for 30 days about that damn list.

The new laws for workmans comp. in fla. suck!
The ins. comp's. now have the athority to "starve" a man out of any compansation he may need.
I have been denied all medical treatment because the ins. comp. pulled a fast one with the other dr. They gave him specific instructions to only see me for a second opinion only one time, and to only give that opinion on my knee. This leaves me without treatment for my back and neck,and now my leg.

It is his opinion that I must have surgery to my knee to be able to save it and to be able to walk again. Without this surgery,my knee will only get worse and it will come to the point that even moving it will cause me enough pain to damn near cut it off myself.

The new laws only give the ins. comp's total control over someone thats been injured on the job. Because this ins. comp. is allowed to take advantage of these laws I have become behind in every bill I owe.
I have gotten a 3 day notice to move from my home because of it. I'm broke. I cant even begin to think about finding a place to live.
I am about to become homeless because of this shit.

I was able to speak to the owner of the property and convince him to give me another 30 days but, I dont see any light.

The lawer has soepened the bitch at the ins. comp. to give deposition as to why they wont pay me but, even with that,if they dont want to pay,they dont have to.

I'm asking anybody that lives in the "grand" state of fla. to write to congressman Bob Graham, and let him know that because of these screwed up laws,familys are being put on the streets and going hungry because they cant pay their bills.

In my case I cant even go drive a truck from orlando to miami as a favor for a friend because my health certifacate has been pulled. If caught in a commercial vehicle driving,I can go to jail.

Its just not right that because I got hurt I should have to worry about weather or not I can eat or pay my bills.

I've also learned that in next yrs. session,the comp. laws will again be changed to be even harder on a injured worker.
Its not right!
Since I fell into this trap,I have met several people that have been forced out on the streets because of these new laws. I've even met a family that had their kids taken away from them because the father cant work and they were put on the streets. He's in a damn wheelchair for christ sakes!

Please, I beg you to take a few mins and let your oppinions be known as a voter to those that control these laws.
It may be you that gets hurt one day.....
