Before you go an purchase/install direcpc, make sure to call them up. I went thru all that shit, and they had no (zip, zero, nada) local dial-up numbers availaible for me. And, oh yeah, the panaramic mountain range along the horizon also made it a complete waste.
I'll need to spend some time with my sawzall before I move out of here. Unlike direc-tv (which can mount on regular EMT pipe), direcpc requires rigid pipe. Rigid is much thicker, stronger, heavier - and a pain in the ass to cut with a hacksaw.
I did recently get an e-mail from Earthlik about a new co-op offer on direcpc. Maybe that would work out for you. But since I am moving in a few months, I'll sit tight, and see if DSL is available in my next neighborhood.
