Unless you've been to #webmasters on chat.sextracker.com and gotten to know the others and asked around, don't knock it. I've been in there for a little over a week and there is a very friendly, helpful attitude towards newbies.
As long as you aren't a prick about it, other webmasters are always willing to give you advice ... good or bad :P
