That's a crock. The media has been telling people for years not to download anything you don't know about, don't open attachements etc. Don't you remember the Melissa virus and the Lovebug viruses of a year ago? Same story...the internet will come to a screeching halt, don't download or you'll end up with a melted heap of slag on your desktop etc. etc.
This does less to hurt consumer confidence than force-feeding dialer .exe downloads down someone's throat and them waking up with a $9,000 porno phonebill. Never mind the endless pop-up hells, auto-bookmarks etc. That hurts consumer confidence, my friend.
