OK here's the deal. I'm an idiot. I have 3 partitions on my HD. I have a linux swap, then my hahahahahahas xp partition, then my linux partition. The linux partition wasn't fully installed yet, but I used partition magic from within XP to set my PC to boot from the linux partition. Now I can't get the damn thing to boot into hahahahahahas. All I can do is use a livecd right now, which is what I'm posting from.
