Someone asked why CBS did this, as if they felt sorry for Rupert.

Hell no man, it's because Mark Burnett is no dummy. He created Survivor, he knows the public's love for Rupert, and he knows that by Rupert losing *twice* that the public would be so disgusted at all of it that they'd turn Survivor off and never watch it again.

Giving a million to Rupert (who truly deserves it) will revive the public's faith in the show and they'll tune back in this fall.

It's all about the marketing. A million is nothing to Burnett and his advertisers, it's not even pocket change. But having Rupert lose twice and not get *anything* in the end - now *that* would impact the wallets of both Burnett and the advertisers.

GO RUPERT!!
