My Take On President Bush
I am a Texan born and raised. I did not vote for Bush and won't vote for him come re-election time. Too much history here in Texas to try and explain it here.
As I sit here watching his televised speech again I am bothered by the attempt to be "presidential." It was too rehearsed, and in my opinion poorly written.
However when he appeared before the cameras at the school early this morning I caught a glimpse of a man who could truly be a leader. He spoke very few words but there seemed to be real emotion behind them. I actually liked him if even for a brief moment.
I pray it is the real man I saw this morning who leads this country through this horrible ordeal and not the shell of a character he attempted to play on television tonight.
I don't mean to write this to incense anyone, I am behind this guy 100% and support our leaders 100% in order to get this resolved.
I guess I would just like to see someone get on television and read the bullshit speeches that shitty speech writers give them to read and then before the camera is turned off to rise from their chair. Walk around the desk directly towards the camera and look straight into it, into the eyes of the perpetrators who are undoubtedly watching and just tell them in no uncertain terms that we are going to fuck them up.
As I sit here and watch the recap of the whole day, including new footage of the Trade Center area I don't know whether to cry, or to destroy something.
