It sounds like you may have played with the router settings
too much.

With the power plugged into the router still, push and hold
the reset button for ten seconds. This will put the router
back to default settings.

Make sure Win<i></i>do<i></i>ws is set to "obtain automatically"
reboot
go into the router again (192.168.1.1 in browser) and select PPPoE
again (and user:password if necessary).
No other settings.
