from what I understand the people onboard the flight that crashed south of pittsburg did fight back. There was phone call made from a guy on board to his wife. He told her they had been hijacked, they knew they were going to die, but they were going to stop them. that may not be word for word what he said but it's pretty close. So from what I've read several of the people onboard rushed these guys and caused the crash.
