What about making a kind of no fly zones.
If a plain tries to enter such a zone, the automatic pilot will take over and flies the plain out of that area.
A automatic pilot is even capable of landing a plain by itself ...
Coordinates can be entered by flight control in this way there is no need to fly the plain from the cockpit and the plain can be directed to where ever it's safe to land it.
Of course if the system is activated by entering a no fly zone there is no way to over ride it from the plain itself
