So, you're saying we deserved this then!? What a piece of shit!

We have caused the deaths of large populations of innocent people. Not always through bombing and outright war but by indirect but higly vidible (in those countries but not ours) means.
An example is the backing of dictaorships in Chillie. If you don't know what happened there then you need to read up on history. It has been in the news again over the last year because the British arrested the dictator that both of our governments once supported. We are talking people being tortured and killed in massive numbers.
Think about the Russians in relation to what is going on at the moment. A LOT of their people died fighting in war against Afghanistan and a lot of the time they died at the end of weapons that the United States supplied to their enemy.
Think about all those millions of people in countries that have been victims of terrible disasters in huge numbers that frankly the American public couldn't care less about.
There is genocide going on in Africa and we do nothing. Of course we are under no obligation to help - other than a moral obligation. However, I can understand why these people are wondering why their lives are worth less than American lives.
I think of those poor women that are under the rule of the Taliban that no one here gave a crap about. They are stoned in the street if they show too much skin or if they laugh. They didn't alwys live like that. They used to go to school and have right. They woke up one moring to a new government and their country had changed from a relativly liberal Muslim society to one where they could be killed on the spot for disenting. We as Americans are suppose to care about things like that but we did not demand that any action be taken to help these people. Would it have helped if they were white and European? Well the fact of the matter is again that that government was put in place with OUR gun and OUR backing. Top that off with the fact that the leader of the opppsition in Afghanistan (aka the good guy) was confirmed dead yesterday and these women must feel they have no hope. That is of course if they know it happened because TV is BANNED. So is the internet. So your tax dollars went to putting those women in hell and most of you (you being general) couldn't honestly care less. If you do why haven't you voiced your disgust to your government? Can you blame these trapped people from thinking their lives are seen as less important than those of Americans?
So..while I think ANYONE that would suggest that Americans deserved to die is evil..I also think that when things have calmed down a bit we all owe it to those that died to read the history of what our government has done around the world. To understand why people sometimes see our government as the bad guy. We do so much good in the world but as you know one bad deed over powers the good ones.
