Well, I live on the housing estate where Clockwork Orange was filmed. I go through the garages where they hung out almost every day (scary place).
You may not be aware but in the UK Kubrick self banned the film. There are varying reasons but one of them was his concern because people were copying the things they saw in the film.
It was only after his death that it was able to be shown in the UK. It was such a big deal that they rereleased it and showed it in the big cinemas.
