Actually I wasn't even attempting to debate that with my reply. I was just pointing out to the previous poster that what he was using as a far fetched idea had already happened.

The difference between UK society from when Clockwork Orange first was released and today is so vast that you can't really do a proper study. When Clockwork came out it was truly shocking. Mostly do to the violence and rape for fun aspects. People did go out and try to emulate what they saw on the screeen. Not everyone of course but some did and that is why the creator took the decission. Which I think it relevant to this thread.

In todays world, when it was rerelease we are desenitised to violence on the screen to a large degree. There aren't huge expolsions in Clockwork so it was adults who went to see it..not the general movie going public.
