Germesia is probably the best script out there but a tad pricey if you're not sure you want to commit to this stuff. Autogallery Pro or SQL is the best mid-range script I've seen.
Forget X-3's free version....it goes down and you're fucked. The X-3 pro version has an awesome admin section.
