P.S. (To beat you to the punch). You may bring into the equation Canada's low dollar compared to the US dollar and some other currencies.

In Canada, our Exports greatly exceed our imports. (StatsCanada) Our low dollar puts us in a very competitive position against other manufacturing nations. A good case in point would be a small time webmaster like myself. For every $5,000 U.S. you make a month, I make roughly $7,700 - which more then compensates for any cost of living differences between Canada and our neighbors to the south.

Another case would be the current Soft Wood Lumber dispute between Canada and the US. The US gov't is levying heavy premiums on our exports as they feel that our US counterparts can not compete against our pricing.

Canadians are fiercely proud of our country and proud of our fighting and working anchestors that got us to where we are today.
