From the State of Kuwait website:
"The Iraqis created their own methods of killing people. They did not exclude civilians whether children, women or the elderly. A man could be killed for a minor reason and without standing trial. They killed civilians for writing slogans against Iraq on walls of their houses. People captured in the street during the curfew hours were shot dead. Iraqi troops destroyed and set fire to houses with anti-Iraqi invasion slogans, Kuwaiti flags or photos of the ruling family members on their walls. Iraqis destroyed and set fire to every place where an Iraqi soldier had been killed and any house in which they found weapons. "
