Yeah man, never take the first Tuk Tuk when you come outside a hotel. They just wait on you and ask about 200-300 bath per rit.
Walk down the street and get it for 50/100 bath ( 1 or 2 dollars )

Message clubs are quite exspensive.
If you go to Phuket dont book your hotel inside patongbeach but just outside it ( about 50% cheaper for same hotel quality )
patongbeach is a tourist trap beers, clothes everything cost about 3 times more then in Bangkok
If you going to a Jungle tour in chiangmai dont take a lot with you cuz you need to walk with it all the way ( i did a 5 days tour with my friends and damn it was awesome but heavy, about 5km walking daily and we were sleeping in wooden houses
