I don't want to go as far as to call you dishonest, but if you really wanted to help your nephew, you should have set up a trust at a chartered Canadian bank.

My heart goes out to this child and his family, but I have been screwed online by similar things in the past.

If the intentions are good, that is all the more reason to set up proper accountability for the donations.
