I've been a commercial pro for about twenty years, three years ago I went compleatly digital. If your used to the functionality of a standard 35 you really need to consider throwing down the extra coin for one of the Kodak DCS series cameras.
The interchangable lens system is typical Nikon, and it functions like a "real" camera.
Some of the pro/am digitals that I have worked with will make you want to hurt people that you don't even know. auto focus problems, and slow shutter response are the most common problems.
A very important unpublished factor regarding buying decisions is download and aquisition of images. The fuji finepix, "a great camera" is a total pain in the ass to get your images into an editor app.
This point is where Kodak is way out in front. They have the best aquire modual that I've seen. Great color correction options as well.
The worst part of the Kodak system is the repairs. My LCD just stopped working one day.
$2000. for repair!
As if those rochester bastards haven't got enough of my cash in the last twenty years.
I have some good examples of the cameras capabilities at my site, check Gallery 9..
Best of luck..
