Allow me to throw some fuel on the fire:

1) Every male mammal on the planet has a foreskin of some kind. It's very unlikely to be a design flaw on such a large scale.

2) Believe it or not humans walk around covered in bacteria, body oils, sweat and smells even after you get out the shower. We're animals, not sterile robots, get over it. You've just been told what to like by older generations and you're doing your sheep impression. Be reasonable.

3) Go figure. That 'stuff' under the foreskin is protective. It's even been recently discovered to be mildly anti-bacterial which helps prevent disease. Either way putting a child in a diaper without a foreskin for protection is hardly 'cleaner' is it?

4) Nobody has mentioned the frenulum, a web of tissue similar to whats under the tongue. It's highly sensitive and usually removed also.

5) Best guesses on why circumcision may prevent any disease is because of reduced surface area for transmission. It's the only procedure justified this way because people have been sold on the incorrect fact that the foreskin is redundant.

6) In the U.S., the constitution (you know that thing better people than many here died defending) guarantees protection from religion as well as religious protection. In other words, for those who do something for religious purposes, stay the fuck away from me and this countries' health policies.

7) Finally (for now) the supposed health benefits. Circumcision:
Prevents cancer in 3 old men a year.
Maybe reduces the incidence of an easily treatable UTI in 4% of children.

Kills 6 infants a year via complications rarely disclosed on the death certificates for liability reasons. Thousands more have complications including bleeding, infection, too much skin removed, bridging and hariy shaft skin. Get it all here:
