That's the fundamental law of any economic system--Self-Interest. Anything else will FAIL. Socialism and Communism failed because they imagined that Man is basically Good and is altruistic... bullshit. Same type of bullshit that undergirds the logic of the anti-usury laws (famously promulgated by the Catholic Church during the Dark Ages) which led to economic decay.
