Virginia: Eleven Shot, One Stabbed During Party
Eleven people were shot and one stabbed Monday during a party at a Virginia community center, authorities said.
Several victims were hospitalized, and at least one was in critical condition.
About 100 people had gathered at the Dawn Community Center, about 20 miles north of Richmond, when police were called about 2:30 a.m.
It was not immediately clear how old the victims were, although Caroline County Sheriff Tony Lippa said some juveniles attended the party.
Police made no immediate arrests.
The sheriff said he did not know whether the violence began among those gathered for the party or whether someone from outside was responsible. "That's something we're still looking into," he said
