Pass the word among your friends that some fool broke into your house but only stole 2 grand, tell them you had 8 grand hidden in a pouch right under the 2 grand they stole..
Act lke your super happy that they didnt take all your money, and make sure to hammer home the idea of how stupid the guy must have been to leave the 8,000 in cash right there and only take the 2,000.
Then make like your going out to the movies or something at a strange time that most people wont be ready , invite all your friends along.. If it happens that one of your friends is the bad guy he most likely will find a reason to avoid the theatre and instead rob your house..
Either film your house or have it watched...
