George you've got the wrong dream.

I'm just trying to enlighten the guy. He's 18, making money. His goal should be to be able to afford the car and having it be only x% of his total savings. That way he has a car and he has money. If not the poor kid is going to pour all his money into a car that he can't afford and then as soon as something happens, bye bye car. He's got a chance to start building a good financial base at a very young age. Instead he's going down a path that will probably end up with him living in debt throughout his 20s (at least).

i jumped too quick last post...

anyways... ok.. for starts, i completly own my car, paid off and all, so its not a matter of not affording it because the only money that goes into it is already earned, i dont use creditcards so im not in any debt.

as for planning for my future, the car is a temp thing, i have another 7grand and the car will be finished for me to enjoy then sell at a profit (grand spendings would add up to around 20K, and the car value to people would easily reach 25K, so there is a profit in end. also i do have alot of bonds, and plan on investing into more.. right now in life, i am happy, i always have money and i can finally afford to build my dream into a real deal. and its not like however long i was saving for this project, i wasnt out there spending more money, i was giving up vacations with friends and alot of shit just to not spend the extra $300 on something that wont last... i think ahead and im sure i will be fine with money.

sorry for the outburst last post
