It seems to me that when you only even visit another country, you accept the fact that they have their own rules which you have to abide by. If you want to live there, it's even more important. If something conflicts with your religion in the other country, you don't do it. When our women visit certain Arab countries, they have to cover their nose and mouth and they can't wear clothing that reveals the leg.

This was discussed on the Bill Maher show last night. If we start making exceptions, where does it stop? In some cultures, it's okay, and religiously sanctioned, to kill your wife if she is unfaithful. Obviously, we're going to draw the line before it goes that far and we're going to insist that people abide by our local values. Why not insist upon that here as well? Driving a car isn't a right, and if driving a car means creating an ID card that can truly function to identify the driver, and if that conflicts with one's religion, well, following a religion can involve sacrifices. Like not being able to drive a car.
