Hey teadrinker
Cleaning out your cache will NOT cause you to lose your bookmarks, WILL slow down loading of your most frequented pages just after cleaning it out,(for nothing will be in cache, and all text/images/sounds etc on the webpages you visit will need to be fully downloaded again), [they'll get cached again after a few trips back there so don't worry

You should clean out your cache every-so-often anyhow to make sure your browser works at it's most efficient. [lol @ efficient anything for MS products ... hee hee hee

Teadrinker, Rage, whoever else:
What about,(on 1st opening your browser for the day) when you open a new window and then type in the huns URL or someone elses... Do you get a popup then??
If it's a form of scumware it might only be triggered when you click to go to a URL, OR it might only get triggered when you click to go to a particular set of URLs, or ones that be related to something specific that it can see from the URL name, or the webpages Metas etc., when the page is loaded or while loading.
If you are getting the URL trigger even when coming off of a yahoo.com or a blank,(fresh browser for the day) page to the huns or something, then it sounds like it may be a bonus hidden install from a program that you accepted to be installed on your system,(but you didn't catch the fine print)... There's a lot of shit like that out there now... (GATOR Download thingy adds this crap from memory also) .. Windows itself is now trying to get in on this by highlighting words on webpages in some IE versions that you visit which then link out to other sites,(of which they get $$$ for doing.. Yep, you lose money and traffic after all your hard work and some other fucker makes money off of it).
I have a basic scumware,(that's what most are called) test script installed on the below link.
<A HREF="http://1-adult-dvd-xxx-sex-videos.com/index.shtml" target="1adultindex"><font color="aqua">1-adult-dvd-xxx-sex-videos.com</font></a>
The script doesn't always get it right in detecting that you have scumware on your system, sometimes it thinks you do when you don't, but it will, if it thinks you have scumware,(that it can detect... Mainly toptext and surf+) then popup a window with a link to a site that can better test your system for this sort of crap and provide more information on the latest in revenue stealing bullshit & protection from such crap,(ie. ways to find, disable and/or delete it etc).
Just as about to post I got another link for ya's .. <A HREF="http://scumware.com" target="scumware"><font color="aqua">scumware.com</font></A>
Hope this helps
Later, RIPP
