There are two web-based services... RevStats and MyStatsArea. RevStats is an original product run by honest people (AFAIK), MyStatsArea is run by a known thief and liar. Here's the proof again in case sombody missed it:

The problem I see with web-based services in general is that every server can be hacked.
Also, I would never use a web-based service myself as it's nobody else's business how much we make. Actually I wouldn't mind so much if somebody saw our stats, but once you have access to an account you can see more, e.g. referring URL's to check out how people get good conversions, etc...
In the case of StatsRemote everything is stored encrypted on your hard drive, so unless somebody has access to your PC your data is safe and nobody except you has ever access to it.
