I was called for jury duty myself, and got out of it because I work for a company with less than 5 employees, and even though I would have been paid something, I could not afford to lose money and my work could not afford to lose me that week, so I got out of it that way when I specifed on the paperwork. \
It is a big pain in the ass, but next time I will probably go, having an encounter with the law myself, I may be less biased than the rest of the jury who may be brainwashed by the legal system.
