including this link:
http://64.38.223.107/splsh/np/
which promotes trafficcashgold sites, the account id : notepad
I went to trafficcashgold support site, got in touch with their LIVE support person and this is the transcript:
J.P.: Hello, how can I help you today?
you: I've received a spam mail from one of your WM's. Will you take care of it for me? Account id : notepad
you: hello?
J.P.: What is the email address you signed up with?
you: huh? I didn't sign up with anything. Onw of your webmasters are sending unsolicited mails to me, promoting straponteens.com I can forward the entire mail to you.
J.P.: that's the only way I can remove you from our mailing list, if I have email address
you: So you're account 'notepad'??? And not one of your webmasters?
you: email address :
[email protected]
J.P.: ok I put in a request for that email address to be removed from our companies mailing list
you: This is the url he sent to me:
you:
http://64.38.223.107/splsh/np/
you: Is account 'notepad' your own?
J.P.: I'm sorry I do not know..
you: Don't you run doulbe opt-in mailing lists? How did you get my email?
J.P.: you must have requested to be on a mailing list from some company
J.P.: but I already put in the request for it to be removed
you: Damn, you're running a shady operation.
J.P.: seems clear to me...
you: I will get other opinions from some of the adult WM boards, thanks for your time.
J.P.: you ask to be removed from the list, so I did so
J.P.: if it is from our company
you: I never opted in on ANY mailing lists with this email address. So you must have a problem somewhere
you: What I've seen other sponsors do when approached with a spam complaint is to ask for proof and then I normally get a reply that the offending webmaster is terminated from their program. But not you apparently, so I can only take it that you accept spamming as part of your business policy. That's the shady part.
So as you can see, J.P. didn't bother with the webmaster ID I provided, but would gladly remove me from their own mailing list and he could'nt answer if 'notepad' were their inhouse account or not.
Whenever I have the time, I try to kill a spamming webmaster, but when I get this kind of reply from a big adult company, I wonder if it's worth it.
